A pressure adapted to your breathing
In Auto-CPAP mode, the DreamStation 2 analyzes your breathing and automatically adjusts the therapeutic pressure throughout the night.
The pressure increases when the device detects the need to keep the airways open and decreases when the need is less acute. This allows treatment to be delivered within the pressure range determined by your doctor or healthcare provider.
The device can also be used in classic CPAP mode, with a fixed pressure.
Ramp Plus: a more comfortable sleep
The Ramp Plus function allows you to start the night with lower and more comfortable pressure.
The starting pressure can be set between 4 and 10 cmH₂O. A duration of 15, 30, or 45 minutes can be selected. If a respiratory event is detected during this period, the device can automatically increase the pressure.
Once memorized, the Ramp Plus setting is automatically offered during subsequent uses.
Flex: more comfort during exhalation
Flex technology slightly reduces pressure during exhalation. This can make breathing more natural and facilitate adaptation to treatment, particularly for people who experience discomfort when exhaling against pressure.
Three levels of comfort are available:
-
Flex 1: slight reduction
-
Flex 2: intermediate reduction
-
Flex 3: greater discount
-
Deactivation possible
The Flex level should be adapted to the treatment and recommendations of the healthcare professional.
Built-in heated humidifier
Unlike devices that require the addition of a separate module, the DreamStation 2 has a built-in heated humidifier .
Humidification helps to limit the sensations of dryness in the nose, mouth and throat that can occur during CPAP therapy.
The reservoir has a capacity of 325 ml and the adaptive humidification offers five adjustable levels. With a compatible heating hose, the circuit temperature can also be set to five levels.
Use only distilled water at room temperature, without perfume, essential oil or additives.
Simple to use with a touchscreen
The color touchscreen provides quick access to the main functions:
-
starting and stopping the treatment;
-
Ramp Plus adjustment;
-
humidification setting;
-
adjusting the temperature of the heating pipe;
-
consultation of processing information;
-
mask fit check.
A dedicated physical button allows you to easily start or stop the treatment, even in the dark.
Track your treatment with DreamMapper
The Bluetooth connection allows you to pair the DreamStation 2 with the Philips DreamMapper application, subject to its availability in your country.
The application allows users to view, among other things:
-
the duration of use;
-
adjusting the mask;
-
the main nighttime data;
-
the progress of your treatment;
-
tips to facilitate the regular use of CPAP.
Some versions also feature a cellular modem that enables data transmission to the Philips Care Orchestrator professional platform. Access to this service depends on the device configuration and the healthcare provider.
A quiet and compact device
With a declared sound pressure level of 27 dB(A) , the DreamStation 2 operates quietly to limit disturbances for the user and their partner.
Its integrated humidifier allows it to maintain a relatively compact size:
-
weight without power supply and with empty tank: approximately 1.04 kg;
-
weight with food: approximately 1.34 kg;
-
Approximate dimensions: 25.7 × 15.9 × 8.5 cm.
It can be transported in its case for travel. However, it is a compact bedside CPAP machine and not an ultralight travel CPAP machine.
